✨ How I Knew It Was Time to Stop Playing Safe
A Story from the Threshold
There’s a moment in every seeker’s life when the old ways stop working.
They don’t fall apart, exactly.
They just… go quietly.
The practices you’ve leaned on, the paths you’ve paved, the titles you’ve worn, they don’t feel completely wrong, but they no longer feel true.
And truth, once awakened, is relentless. And restless.
That moment came for me quietly, though it had been building for years, possibly decades. As a leader and executive and then as trained health and wellness coach, a life coach and guide, I knew how to help people. I knew how to guide them through goals, clarity, productivity, even transformation.
And I still do.
But something deeper had been knocking.
Not loudly. Not demanding.
Just steadily, persistently, asking:
“What are you really here to do?”
It wasn’t burnout or boredom. It wasn’t a professional crisis. It was a soul whisper that became a roar.
Because the truth is: I’ve always been more than what the certifications and job titles said. I’ve always known that healing doesn’t just happen just by following a plan or a productivity strategy. It happens when someone dares to ask deeper questions. It happens in the in-between. In the shadow. In the sacred pause.
For a long time, I thought I could “funnel” people into that space.
Start with wellness coaching, then maybe weave in some deeper soul work…if they were open.
But that was me negotiating with my own power.
Hiding the Maven behind the Coach.
Offering safe answers, hiding behind the normal, when what was needed was authenticity.
So I stopped.
Not abruptly. Not dramatically.
But with quiet devotion.
I stopped playing safe.
I stopped trying to prove myself through professionalism while dimming my spiritual truth.
I stopped downplaying my intuitive gifts to fit into spaces that felt too small.
I stopped pretending that the “normal” way was my way.
And here’s what I found on the other side:
I didn’t have to choose between structure and spirit.
Between credentials and cosmic truth.
I just had to let my soul lead.
The Maven Work Begins
I now stand here as a guide for others on the edge of their own becoming.
I work with seekers, not clients.
With those who sense there’s more but haven’t been given the map. (HINT: No one gives us our map.)
With those who are ready to remember themselves and rise.
The work I do now is Maven Work.
It’s a weaving of wisdom traditions, archetypal insight, ancestral whispers, and spiritual clarity, along with my life and love of learning.
It’s whole-person, whole-path, whole-soul work in the real world.
If this resonates—if you’ve felt the tension between your old life and your true calling—you’re not alone.
You’re standing at the threshold.
And I’ve been there.
And I’m between both worlds.
Let’s walk it together.
Want to hear more stories from the Maven path, rituals, tools, and gentle guidance?
Make sure you’re subscribed to this space. I’ll be sharing it here—raw, real, and rooted.
You don’t have to keep playing small.
The path is here.
Let’s begin.
