There is a kind of relief that comes from being explained to.
It feels like clarity.
It is often only quiet.
Understanding that arrives fully formed,
already translated into someone else’s language,
asks very little of your own discernment.
Truth is slower than relief.
It requires you to stay present
after the explanation would have ended.
What strengthens you is not being told why you feel this way.
It is discovering that you can stand with the feeling
long enough for it to speak in your own voice.
No one can do that for you.
That is not abandonment.
That is sovereignty.
